Bridges work in a similar way to crowns and fill a gap in your smile by replacing a missing tooth between two adjacent teeth. They allow you to eat, speak and smile with full confidence.
Whether you have lost a tooth through trauma, decay or had it extracted, a bridge is an effective solution. They use the teeth on either side of the gap to support a replacement false tooth. Bridges can be made from a number of materials, including Emax, Zirconia and metals.
Initially, we examine your teeth and ensure that you are a suitable candidate for a bridge. Your teeth and gums need to be healthy and strong, particularly the teeth that will be used to support the bridge.
Your bridge is custom-made using impressions taken of your teeth. When it is ready, we ensure it is a perfect and comfortable fit before fixing it into place using strong dental cement.
You will need to practise excellent oral hygiene to properly look after your bridge. Brushing and flossing regularly is very important, and you will also need to clean under the false tooth. With the correct care, bridges can last for over ten years.
